Miguel Cotto is taking this as something personal. The three weight division world cham is scheduled to defend his belt for the second time. This time it will be against his rival, the controversial, three time welterweigh champ Antonio Margarito of Tijuana Mexico. This is a much anticipated rematch between the two warriors.
It can be recalled that the two first met in 2008 in a bloody fight that was hailed as fight of the year later on that year. Margarito won that fight.
Bob Arum of Top Rank recalled that fight as classic.
"The first fight was a classic. I have a feeling that this fight will be much more intense, an outright war. This event will be a real treat for all fight fans,” said Arum.
Miguel Cotto on the other hand, is looking forward to the fight.
“This time around the tale is going to be totally different. I am more mature and will have the correct gameplan convincingly beat my rival. I am prepared to get a great victory!" the champ was quoted.
Antonio Margarito is thinking the same thing. He agrees the first fight was great and so the second one will be much greater.
"And just the like the first fight I will come out victorious." said Margarito.
Cotto vs Margarito fight will happen on December 3rd at the Madison Square Garden regarded by many as the Mecca of Boxing. It will be promoted by Top Rank and will be available in HBO Pay-per-View.
